How does Invisalign® work?
Teeth move by applying gentle pressure on them. As part of your Invisalign® treatment, your dentist will provide you with sets of bespoke aligners. Each aligner is slightly different from the last – applying small amounts of pressure in different areas to create movement.
How often will I need to see my dentist during Invisalign® treatment?
Your dentist will provide enough aligners for 6-8 weeks of treatment. You must change the aligners weekly for optimum results. You will need to see us every 6-8 weeks for any adjustments that need to be made, such as making space between teeth. This is done by hand (a bit like sandpaper) so that crowded teeth have space to move into. It is entirely comfortable.
Is Invisalign® really invisible?
The Invisalign® aligners are made of thin clear plastic, so they are incredibly discreet. They shouldn’t be noticed at all unless speaking face to face and on close inspection. To hold the aligners in place, you will have small “anchors” that look like tooth-coloured “bumps” on the teeth. We carefully choose a colour that matches your natural tooth shade so it will not be noticeable.
