FP Dental aims to see you as soon as possible, even if you need an emergency appointment or your regular dentist is unavailable. What should I do if I’m experiencing toothache?
We all experience sensitivity from time to time, but if you have persistent discomfort or have suffered breakage of a tooth or filling, we aim to see you as soon as possible. Please call a member of our team for an appointment.
What should I expect from an emergency dental visit?
Our patients are accommodated with the same compassion, patience, and understanding that we would expect in an emergency dental crisis.
Once the source of any dental discomfort has been diagnosed, your dentist will discuss the appropriate treatment options relevant to you. One of our skilled dentists will help to remove any discomfort, but you may need to return to complete your treatment.
Emergency visits are treated with the same care as regular appointments, and our dental staff prioritises your comfort above everything else.
What could be causing my discomfort?
Toothache and discomfort can range from moderate to severe and manifest itself in a variety of ways, ranging from a brief, sharp sensation to a chronic throbbing dull ache. Toothache not only causes discomfort, but it may also induce face swelling and be followed by flu-like symptoms if it goes untreated.
There are numerous reasons that discomfort may occur. The most common are:
- Caries (Tooth decay)
- Fillings and teeth that are cracked or fractured
- Orthodontic Treatment
- Partially erupted teeth – commonly wisdom teeth
- Dental abscess or infection
